JMMC Bike Race July 4 2009

I was invited to take pictures of the annual JOE MATAVA MEMORIAL CLASSIC bike race hosted by the Wheelsport Cycling TeamI only had an hour or so, but I got a great taste of the speed and athleticism of road racing.  The women were fast.  I wasn't able to stay for the men's races - next time.

I experimented with some black and white conversions just for something different :)

Aspen June 2009 - new web site

Why is it that I can remember not to cut off the rider's head for everyone else but my daughter?  I finally figured out that when any of my daughters are riding I get too excited.  I want to get the best shot in the world and I end up over doing :)

Also, I have finally got around to making the changes on my web site that I have been meaning to make for the last year or so.  I will update this blog when they are posted.

More adventures of Tank the cat

_I9Q7319 Tank has been dying to go outside!  Sometimes, he hides across the room and as soon as someone opens the door he runs as fast as he can and shoots out the door.  The problem is he hasn't yet learned to be afraid of anything - and we have too many coyotes around waiting to take advantage of that.

_I9Q7348The other skill Tank is learning is how to get down from a tree.  We had to call a tree service to pluck him out of our Black Locust tree from 60 feet up.  Three days later I had to get him out of our Birch tree.  I extended the ladder most of the way, climbed up, then climbed higher up some branches.  Tank walked back along the branch he was on and climbed up on my shoulder and stayed there while I climbed back down the tree and down the ladder.

Tank now thinks twice before getting too high up a tree.  Here he is practicing on one of our smaller trees in the front yard.
